The Gophers have already had a visitor from the 2017 recruiting class at one of their games. This thread will capture tweets, articles, video, analysis and more of Gophers 2017 recruiting.

As posted in the 2016 thread, since this segment was also on Brad Davison, a 2017 recruit:

Maple Grove's Young Stars

Maple Grove High School has two potential Big Ten college basketball players on its hands - and they're just beginning their high school careers. Freshman Brad Davison and sophomore Reed Nikko are both on the University of Minnesota's radar.

Here is video of Davison who was a Gopher guest against Illinois:

Pretty creepy considering the kid is probably 15 years old.

Kid has great handles and body control in the lane for his age. Seems like his patented move is his spin move. But man does he look young and small. Glad Pitino isn't afraid to start recruiting the state's top young talent right away though.

He's 6'2"

Really? He looked tiny in that video. That's good height for a PG though if accurate.

ETA: I guess that's his 8th grade highlights so maybe he's grown since then.

I agree he doesn't look 6'2" in the video, but I found two separate sources that list him at that height.

This is a more recent video of Davidson and he also has a game winner

That looked like a season full of highlights in one game. Calmly drains the 3 to end Osseo's 42 game winning streak. Looks very poised, and is clearly a leader on that team as a 9th grader. We'll be hearing a lot about him in the years to come.

I didn't see him finish one play with his left hand. Needs to shore that up. Has obviously mastered the right handed finish on the left side.

Very impressive kid, must be nice being recruited at such a young age.

Did you watch the 8th grade highlights. There were a few left handed finishes that immediately stood out to me.

I did, however I'll admit I didn't start keeping track till around midway through his offensive section. If there were some earlier I may have missed them.

Obviously the kid is talented and strong with the ball. I have no doubt he can of will be able to utilize his left hand to the same extent as his right. I just saw a couple times where a strong left may have been beneficial or even easier and he went with the finese reverse right hand finish on the left hand side of the bucket.

I mean, if he doesn't grow a single inch in his high school career, then yes he will have pretty decent PG size. Though I imagine that won't be the case.

I see Ishmael El-Amin from Minneapolis North is listed on the 2017 list as well. Is he one of Khaild's kids? Just curious...

I'm trying to decide if it's more disturbing that they made an 8th grade individual highlight video or that I watched the entire thing.

Must get out more. There are kids that just finished 9th that are far beyond this. This is leave them alone and let them be kids. Lets see how they look next year. They have a long, long way to go

slow and has very little lift. long ways to go, tons of work to do

Do I really have to think about 2017? I may not be alive by the time these kids make an impact in the college ranks. :p

Sounds like the type of kid we've passed on for years and has either gone to Bucky or some other school only for us to post 4 years later why the hell did we let him get out of state.
