Doubt it. Kids make their own decisions.

Recruits that barely know each other other than going to the same camp or two talk about playing together, being future teammates and even packaging all the time. Its not the end all be all but it definitely helps if JoJo is in Seth's ear for over a year.

How do you even know they are close? Has Hassenauer been in their ear about going to Bama?

How do I even know they are close? I mean they go to the same school, JC is two years older than them, and they don't even have an offer from Bama. If they did get offered I'm sure JC would get in their ear once or twice anyways.

Let me try this for the last time. Some guys on the same team aren't close, and some don't even like each other. Often times, even the best of friends go to different colleges. Unless you can show us a quote where Garcia and Green said they would like to go to the same school, your comment is complete speculation at best and in all likelihood flat out wrong.

One kid to look out for in the 2016 class - Brian Lankford Johnson. Was at CDH but got booted. Had over 200 yards in a varsity game vs Moundsview last year and is lightning fast.

Jo Jo Garcia is going to be a beast too. Hope the Gophers can land him!

Go Gophers!!

Coughlin's dad and grandpa played for the U. Have to think we're the early favorite for him. This 2016 class could end up being special in terms of Minnesota talent and the U's ability to keep them home.

Seth Green said in a GH interview awhile ago that his dad played for the U as well. And with what we know about Garcia it sure seems to headed in a a very good direction. Plus Trent Pink is going to the rivals top 250 camp also so plenty of in-state talent.

Texas doesn't do very much recruiting outside of the state, let alone in Minnesota. If he gets an offer i bet he wouldn't be their plan A guy. The gophers did beat out Texas along with Tennessee and K-state for Devondre Campbell. He was actually committed there at one point. And wanting an offer and wanting to go their are two different things.

Seth Green is camping at Texas and hoping for an offer. https://minnesota.rivals.com/barrier_noentry.asp?sid=935&script=/content.asp&cid=1649203

Keep in mind he also camped at Louisville when Charlie Strong was there and received an offer on the spot, so it's probably a foregone conclusion that he gets one. My guess at this point is he ends up a Longhorn.

Texas recruits at a much higher level than Louisville. If Jerry Kill offered X player on the spot at a camp at Northern Illinois, it's not a foregone conclusion that the same player gets an offer at Minnesota.

Shaking my head...Since I get in trouble for saying what I think of people like yourself, I am only going to say goodbye.

That's a mighty big leap you're taking there

Here's my logic: Last year Green decides to camp at Louisville when Charlie Strong is their coach. He gets an offer. Charlie Strong moves on to Texas. Where does Green decide to go camp right away? Texas. Strong coached a very good Louisville team that just had a QB picked in round 1. He obviously has an eye for talent, and the chances that Green was good enough for him at Louisville but not at Texas are slim. Read between the tea leaves and it's pretty clear Green is close with Strong.

I think this is where people are disagreeing with you.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Strong at Texas. I think he's a great coach and has a good eye for talent, but people at Texas would be livid if they recruit like Strong did at Louisville. It's obviously counterintuitive because of the amount of talent coming out of Louisville lately combined with the "struggles" at Texas.

They would essentially be handing the most talented players to Texas A&M.

With teams usually only taking 1/2 QBs per class, there is a really good chance that a kid who he would have offered at Louisville would not get an offer at Texas.

Not speculating AT ALL, but spending a great deal of time on both campuses (from an unbiased standpoint) from a personal standpoint, if I were Seth Green and I got an offer from Texas, I'd commit on the spot. That's not a knock on Minnesota, but the combination of good academics, great facilities, traditionally nationally competitive team, and beautiful campus is something that would be incomparable to me as a football recruit.

Bottom Line: Hopefully Seth Green stays in Minnesota and decides to don the Maroon and Gold. This kid would be a great get for Kill and staff!

No need to explain, IMO. You even said it was a guess. Not sure why folks ran at you for that one. Seems like a logical opinion to express.

I don't think its a stretch to say he gets offered by Texas, just that if he were to get offered he would eventually end up there.

Absolutely impressed with Carter Coughlin (OLB-Class of 2016) Eden Prairie. This kid can fly (4.4-4.5 speed) I'm glad the Gophers offered as I see this kid being a major recruit in his Jr. Year. Also helps that his parents are U of M graduates. This is one kid we can't afford to lose, as he has James Laurinaitis potential. Great kid that comes from a great family.
Also, I was down at Saturday's QB/Big Man Camp. Finally got to see Trent Pink (QB-Class of 2016) Elk River. He looks the part, good sized kid, someone mentioned he ran a 4.58 at camp. He ended up winning the Top Gun Challenge out of all the QB's that were there (around 60 total). Strong arm, with good accuracy, he met with Coach Kill and Z after camp. It will be interesting to see where his recruitment will go.

Carter Coughlin is ranked the #24 OLB on 247. Pretty impressive for the #3 in state prospect.

Garcia is now ranked #173 overall and the #18 DT on scout. Has been ranked #136 overall and #15 DT for a while now on 247. So glad he is probably going to commit at the BBQ.

Oh, and some more ground breaking news. Just got offered by Western Michigan recently.

Scout just ranked Green #134 overall and the #9 QB overall, not PP or DT but #9 overall.
