Go Gophers!!

I thought Kafo was from Vanier College...yet they have him as a freshman

Anybody know anything on the Pink kid from Elk River? I haven't heard his name before. Also, has anybody heard anything on Connor Wilke, the Andover 2014 QB? I saw him at quite a few Gopher practices and games last year.

They better be looking at him for defense then, because Elk River throws the ball about 3 times a season. Wilkie is going to Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall.

Go Gophers!!

Seth Green just got evaluated by 247 and is a 4 star to go along with his 4 star evaluation on scout. JoJo Garcia, Eastridge's DT is also a 4 star on 247 and has a higher ranking then Green. It would have been nice to get Hassenauer to make it easier to get the other 2 East Ridge studs.

This recruitment is about to blow up. He's attending the Rivals Five-Star Challenge next month and hitting the RCS camp on Sunday. Many of the helmet schools are starting to court him. Strong QB class based on some of the players I have seen receiving big time offers already.

A friend was at the Rivals Camp in Chicago this weekend. He said MN players had a very strong showing. Seth Green invited to Rivals 100 Camp and Trent Pink invited to Rivals 250 Underclassmen Camp. He talked with both Green and Pink's Dads, said Seth is going to Texas Camp (makes sense as Charile Strong is the Head Coach-he offered Seth at Louisville). Trent's dad is expecting offers from 3-5 BCS schools in upcoming months, I recall him saying Iowa, Nebraska and Stanford. Also said he will visit Ohio State when he attends Elite 11 Camp there in June. When was the last time MN had 2 BCS QB's in the same class?

With the 2015 Top Player List pretty well developed, I have turned my efforts to working the top player list for the Class of 2016. With two players, East Ridge QB Seth Green and DL Jojo Garcia, already picking up BCS offers early in their sophomore year, it is starting out to be the best class on paper since I have tracked football. Like any typical Minnesota player list, there is a number of large offensive lineman and some sizeable defensive lineman as well. I have also added freshman that played varsity or have significant potential, which there are a few! Rankings are primarily based on states, picking up All Conference, or college potential. I adjust the lists as offers come in.

Other than Green and Garcia, I think the next Gopher offer will go out to Armstrong LB/RB Thomas Barber. The family genetics make this a pretty safe offer! Park Jr CB Adam Buirge mentioned that fellow Park CB so Amani Hooker (6'0 185) has started since he was a freshman and 2x All Conference already. There are a number of big OL and DL that have potential. One player that is intriguing is a DE from Totino-Grace, Lewis Kidd (6'6 260), who was injured last year. One player said he is definitely one to watch. Seems to be some potential at running back. Wide receivers seem to be a little light, but that is not unusual.

Some interesting freshman out there as well that have some very good size!

If anyone has players for me to research, please respond to the thread or send me a message on FB under Bronko Nagurski.

Seth Green was offered the other day by Wisconsin. Very impressive list of schools courting this young man. I would imagine many more coming his way this summer. Rivals site has Seth participating in Rivals 100 event and Trent Pink, Elk River, taking part in the Rivals Underclassmen Top 250. Good class for local QB's. A darkhorse tells me to keep an eye on Trent Pink, USC, Florida and Texas have visited him recently at school. https://www.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=880&CID=1636384

Shooter had this in his column today: Trent Pink, a 6-foot-3, 196-pound sophomore at Elk River High, has been named among the top 20 quarterbacks in the country for the 2016 class by rivals.com. Pink will attend the Gophers' QB camp on June 21.

He doesn't have an evaluation on Rivals.

Is it too late to change the U's official colors to Pink and Green?

per the Daily:

Minnesota is going after a handful of defensive backs to fit the bill, including Nigel Warrior and Omari Stringer.

Warrior won’t graduate high school until 2016, but he could make an immediate impact on the team if he chooses Minnesota. The safety out of Atlanta already has offers from strong football schools like Ohio State, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Georgia.

If Warrior picks Minnesota over those programs, he could start from day one.

“I would love that,” he said. “I can really see myself at Minnesota … I like playing in cold weather.”

Warrior said he could also see himself playing for Ohio State, which was the first school to make him an offer.

“I love Ohio State,” he said. “I always watch Ohio State play.”

Anybody else worried we don't have our first '16 commitment yet?

I haven't been able to sleep thinking about it. That, and the Nintendo thread seems to have died.

Apparently JoJo wants to choose a school before his junior season starts. He could definitely be our first 2016 commit.

That'd be an awesome start to the 2016 class.

Thanks for the link. I really appreciate these free gems from various recruiting websites.

Chris Monter has been writing free recruiting Q&A gems here for years! Hope Garcia commits!

Right, I always read those and appreciate his work as well. And agreed that Garcia would be a fantastic start to the class. A highly regarded player is always nice, but in state and early on would make it even sweeter.

Sure sounds like he is a lock, that will help with Seth Green a lot.
