Great vision and a very, very smooth player.

@D1Circuit: SG Allonzo Trier (@ATrier_14Roc) also picks up strong interest from #Gophersa (@GopherHole) and Miami d1circuit.com/roster_players…

Go Gophers!!

Have to like this agressive recruiting style. Young is doing a terrific job on the east coast. Go Gophs, get that breakout recruit and things will snowball!

@therecruitscoop: Minnesota has offered 2015 forward Brandon Ingram of Stackhouse Elite (NC), per @Justinbyerly.

Go Gophers!!

@gopherhole: Today was the first day that D1 basketball coaches can call 2015 HS kids and its clear #Gophers coaches have been aggressive with offers!

Go Gophers!!

Not sure if or how interested Minnesota is, but it's been reported in a couple places tonight the UW has offered 2015 guard Marshawn Wilson of Hill Murray and D1 Minnesota AAU squad (same team as Henry Ellenson).

Minnesota kids getting a lot of big time offers in football and basketball this weekend.

Interesting. Did not hear of Gopher interest under Tubby or Pitino (yet) but MN hs writers have been saying for a while that Wilson's a really good player and deserves a close look.

Like 2014, the 2015 class in MN is loaded and there are going to be players beyond the "Big 3" (JJohnson, Illikainen and Ellenson) that are going to turn out to be very good college players.

(yeah, I know Ellenson's technically a WI hs player but we still claim him as part of the big 3 for 2015). :)

re: Marshawn:
I don't know what Bo Ryan is up to, but he's brought in some more athletic kids (again this summer) and Wisconsin continues to pursue more athletes than I think they have in the past. Ole, make 'em stop!

Marshawn is a strong kid. Just amazing ups.

Notes from a late April tourney in Denver:
"When D1 Minnesota guard Marshawn Wilson (2015, Hill Murray) gets on a roll he's a lot of fun to watch. He can knock down shots from the perimeter, but with his leaping abilities he's a guy that can drive or post up defenders and create high-percentage scoring opportunities. If Marshawn has the ball near the bucket he seemingly effortlessly elevates high above the defender and tosses the ball in for two."

D1 MN won that tourney, beating De'Ron Davis (2016 star) and the Colorado Hawks in the championship. Henry could draw attention from Davis and other interior guys out on the perimeter... Marshawn had his way in the paint against similar sized kids. Just too athletic and explosive for the defenders. Nice player.

Wing Brandon Ingram has 3 offers (1 from Minnesota) and is the #12 player in the class. Not sure how seriously he would consider the gophers, but I might note that his twitter has been all Minnesota stuff for the past few days. Would be an AWESOME get for the Gophers!

Btw, really hoping we can nab #55 Jarvis Johnson. Would be a more than capable B1G starting PG for us!

re: Malachi Richardson - he's Team Final teammates with 2014 Gopher target Ja'Quan Newton. They'll be at the Peach Jam as a wild card team.

Richardson is quite smooth; great size on the wing (6'6"ish) and is an excellent shooter. Newton is more of a slasher type, Richardson more of a perimeter threat, but I think Malachi's game will continue to expand. Big time player. Helped out on this Inside The Hall story on Richardson a few weeks ago.

first things first lock down at least illikainen and johnson... and then attack ellenson and one more guard and we have a great class.. if we can string together 2 strong classes which i have faith we will. we are on to something for sure

Exactly my thoughts I have high hopes on 2 strong recruiting classes!

Scratch this comment. Sounds like there was confusion and Wilson does not have a UW offer at this time.

I feel like Pitino offering all these big recruits contracts is like me trying to trick a drug test. I'm nervous as hell but it always turns out alright. We'll see.

So Wilson has some nice ups, but is he Big Ten caliber?

Dude has great footwork, soft touch and seems pretty athletic. Would obviously be a great get, a consensus 5 star and top 10 kid.

But doesn't Elijah Thomas go to the shady Prime Prep whose course credits aren't accepted by the NCAA yet? Not sure I'd spend too much time recruiting him if he isn't going to qualify.

With all the offers were are giving out, there is no way we are qualifying each recruit academically. Regardless, quit pissing in the punch bowl.

Kid is lanky as hell, probably has a ridiculous wingspan.

We need a center something fierce in 2015. Maybe even 2. I'm hoping we get Reid in 2014, but even if we do, we absolutely need 2 bigs in 2015 with Elliot and Walker both graduating and leaving us with... well, hopefully Reid. If a top kid is looking for a place to showcase his skills, we certainly have a lot of minutes to give...

Two years down the line Buggs will be a junior, he's a big kid, I think he could really be good by then at multiple positions, still need a center but the cupboard won't be completely dry.

Paging Henry Ellenson... Henry Ellenson.
