All Things 2014 Basketball Recruiting Thread

Strickland is playing AAU for D1 Minnesota this spring. Does this mean he has decided to reclassify, or is he just doing this because he's young enough to still play?
I read an interview from February where he said he wasn't going to reclassify. But I'm not too sure.

According to http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/144291/delshon-strickland

Auburn and Miami for sure.. Other sites list Iowa and Providence

New staff at Auburn and I haven't heard anything about Pearl offering. Never heard/read Delshon list Iowa as a school offering, and only one site lists it so I'm skeptical about that being accurate. If Miami and Providence are real options, I don't know why he wouldn't use an official visit there. He has plenty left. Why not take a free trip to a high major if they actually want you? I kind of doubt those are real offers. Not trying to be negative if it comes off that way.

I haven't heard anything recently, but I'd bet he'll try to get some last minute offers and remain 2014, but if he doesn't get any he likes he'll probably reclassify to 2015. Just a guess though.

SS, I don't disagree with you, we absolutely need Justin Martin or equivalent. Lofton will need to sit a year, but I believe after admittedly watching very little tape, he's a solid B1G talent and a 3 level scorer. I'm greedy, I would sign every true scorer who visits.

What tape did you watch? The ISU highlights just showed him shooting threes and long twos.

I read Strickland probably won't qualify. He may have to go the JUCO route or a prep school.

Highlights also show his ability to pass out the pick and roll.

Here's some other tape. there is no music and the commentators insight is my favorite part.
If your interested and have time you should check em out.

Really wish we would have grabbed another underclassman Wing in this class to go along with the Squirrel. I suppose anything can still happen but it seems like Lofton is inking that final available spot.

Agreed. We swung and missed on a ton, so it's not like we didn't try. We have Morris for two years and McNeil for three. 2015 will hopefully include Jarvis, Alex, and two wings. If that were to happen, then we'll be looking good.

Still think Macura is the guy we're really gonna' regret whiffing on. He's a perfect fit for what the Gophers need next season, a wing that can put the ball in the hole.

Why do people keep saying this? I think we'll regret whiffing on Rashad Vaughn and Isaiah Whitehead much, much, much more.

Dear God, I know that Bo takes in under-the-radar types and constructs good teams, but wow... last in the conference?

Because Macura was actually interested in coming here (post-Tubby). Vaughn or Whitehead were never coming here.

What makes you say that? If he was interested in coming here he would have came here. Minnesota wasn't the right fit for him, just like the other guys. I don't see the difference.

It's all points based and they are the only team with 1 recruit. Pretty meaningless.

Kendal Shell is on a scholarship right? After playing about 20 minutes in 3 years do you think we have him take a hike, and then open up a scholarship for Justin Martin?

He was on scholarship for one year since we had an extra that was being unused. His is already being accounted for with Lofton's offer. He'll revert back to walk on status next season.

Yeah, looking at the average rating is more useful. It's just star ratings at the end of the day though. I like hour class.

You mean hour glass? :)

5 Ethan Happs and their class would be near the top of the list.
