Those who bought into the thread Hate to say this, BUT.........., Those who say this is not a good team, the offensive line is suspect, Gray is a step slower. You know who you are. Man Up. You were touting Las Vegas spreads, and Cupit that. The game is over, check the scoreboard. This team is now 3-0.
 

I don't have a problem with people who have concerns. I have mine. But you still have to enjoy the fact that we are 3-0. Doesn't mean we're satisfied with how the team is playing. We're undefeated! Doesn't happen very often.

This. We are 3-0 and that is awesome. Things are definitely looking up. That doesn't mean that we cannot discuss concerns that we have over certain aspects of the game. I want this team to win as many games as possible. To do that, certain things need to be addressed.

Defensive backs are better than last year. Michael Carter looked really good. DLine put pressure on late in the game. The schedule couldn't be better as it gets progressively more difficult week by week (at least for the first 6 weeks).
 




Where did the idiot expectations come from? Of course we are not that good. We are coming off two 3-9 seasons.

Do you think we are entitled to have instant excellence fly out of Kill's ass? It just does not work that way.

+1,000. Being 3-0 is awesome but there are definite concerns. For those of us like myself that expected this to be a tough game we got what we expected and the good news is we also came out on top. You would think those that were calling for an easy win would have concerns but some of them are so deep in the kool-aid they will get pissed at anyone that expresses concern.

There is plenty of good and bad to go around
1. We are 3-0
2. Gray got hurt not sure how bad, Shortell was on fire to start but struggled some later in the game
3. We gave up a ton of rushing yards to a team that does not typically run very well. Illinois held them to -6 yards
4. The secondary held up well against their passing attack
5. Barker has become the go to guy at receiver. Not the guy most of us expected to step up but have to love his production to date. Will be interesting to see if he can have as much success in the conference season as he is having in the non-conf season.
6. Punter shanked one late in the game
7. Western Michigan had the ball late in the game with a chance to drive down and win the game
8. The defense stopped them.

Precisely. The team is not going to make a national splash, but we are better this year, and we will be better next year. This team is young. Kill keeps saying, "Baby steps".

What it boils down to is the opposition. These are games a Big Ten team should win and to the credit of Kill and the players they have done that. I felt going into the season the minimum expectation for these first 4 games was 3-1 and after today that is the worst we can end up. They have not been the prettiest victories but at the end of the day a win is a win.

I just don't get where all of the sudden if you point out any flaw during a win you are suddenly a Debbie Doubter or whatever. This is a message board to discuss the team (the good and the bad). And frankly there is plenty of good and bad to go around. I love the fact that we are 3-0 like we should be but I have pretty low expectations for conference success at the moment based on the way we have gotten to 3-0.
