Pick per Day for 11/30/08 - Day 17

Deadline for submitting picks is2:00 PM (CST) Sunday (unless noted otherwise).

Note -- it looks like most games are tournament games and played on neutral courts. Good luck on your pick!
Even if you haven't made a pick yet, you're welcome to start at any time through 11/30/08. If you're not familiar with the way this works -- or want to check on the rules -- please review the Small Print (below). And, if you have any questions, please let me know.


Small Print
Here's the way Pick-per-Day (PPD) works:

1. You make one pick per day by selecting a team and the point spread that's offered.
For example, if Florida is favored by 22.5 points versus Toledo and you choose Florida, you pick Florida -22.5
If instead you think that spread is too generous, you pick Toledo +22.5

2. The pick must be in required format (see#5 below) and submitted by that day's deadline.

3. Picks on weekdays are usually due at 5:00 while picks on weekends and holidays will usually be due at 12 noon.

4. Please verify your pick was recorded when the posting is Closed and please check the next days tally to make sure I correctly credited you with the win or loss. Mistakes will happen and I'm more than happy to go back a day or two and figure out what went wrong and then make any corrections. But I really don't want to go back a couple of weeks and try to recalculate the wins and losses.

5. All picks must be entered using this format:
Picks that are submitted after the deadline without making prior arrangements or do not use this format will not be counted in that days tally

6. If you want to change your pick, please add a new post rather than editing your original pick and please note it's a change in the header. (It's easier to pick up and make the change this way.

7. Every now and then, the provider of the Lines has a strange point spread. I reserve the right to scratch games where the spread exceeds normal expectations or if the picks are subsequently corrected, the correction is substantially different than the first pick and the original spread gives a participant an unfair advantage.

In other words, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

8. Later in the season, I may create two divisions to reflect those who participate regularly versus those who are more sporadic. This is done to reduce the likelihood of someone getting a relatively high winning percentage and resting on their laurels.

Don't worry -- I don't have a problem paying off on the bet and would feel the same way you do if the situation were reversed.

But I'll admit I am really curious why the line was set that way given Drake's less-than-impressive record this year. I'd think that Vegas would approach it with far less reliance on last year's efforts -- and that's the only explanation I can think of to rationalize their expectations.

But even if logic tells me Drake's an over-valued team, I doubt I'll pick against them. I'll just have to find other picks.

BTW, the normally favored MVC teams seem to be struggling. Southern Illinois is sure having a tough time and I noted Creighton lost to Nebraska today. Of course, I've ridden both teams during this streak
