Chip Scoggins column: Undo bad fit -- bid farewell to Maturi

Maturi has become a distraction. He's 66 anyways, time to give him his gold watch. Have him announce his retirement and start the search process. How about the Stony Brook AD? He's worked with Kaler, and seems to have done an impressive job building up the athletics department there.

If Maturi does not announce his retirement very soon it is going to get extremely embarrassing for everyone. When I think about "how could this trainwreck possibly get any worse" a Joel Maturi who is reluctant to gracefully exit is a big part of the answer I can come up with.
