Looks like Looney won't be announcing at 11:00 as planned...

But didn't Florida just get a commit from a well-regarded PF?

Devin Robinson, but he plays SF not PF. Florida hasn't taken a PF in 2014. However, Robinson is 6'8 and his game sounds pretty similar to Looney's so there's a chance he won't want to compete for minutes with him...

Dangit.

Why would the WIAA have anything to do with his announcement?

That's what I was wondering too. I guess they fancy themselves like the NCAA ... when they control the eligibility of a guy (in this case, high school eligibility) I guess they can make the 'rules' whatever they want!!!

Good grief, just say where you are going, is the fanfare really required?

Whaaa???? Why would the WIAA have anything to do with this? Is this their equivalent of MSHL?

This makes a little more sense.

Buckyville is suggesting Looney's decision will be at 2 PM on local ESPN Radio.

That may or may not be an honest statement, but I did have my doubts on exactly how much Humphrey would affect him. I think Looney has more impact.

If Looney goes to Duke, Humphrey to Stanford and Martin to Minnesota. Who would you rather compete with for playing time in your own class?

As I understand it, Looney and Humphrey are a lot closer in position to Reid than Martin is. Martin is at least putatively a small forward, though his frame leads people to think he'll end up as a banger.

I think Academics is more of a priority for him than who his competition is.

I would definitely agree with this statement... But I see what Madtown is saying, play behind Looney at Duke, compete with Humphrey at Stanford, or start right away at Minnesota. Seems like an easy choice and especially since as you pointed out, Martin can probably play the 3 if he works really hard on his handles.

Yep. Martin being able to play more 3 only helps Reid's playing time at the U.

Also a good point... But don't you think playing behind someone like he would at Duke if Looney committed would have an impact on his decision? Maybe not as much with Humphrey & Stanford though (which sucks).

Happening today!

I think Academics is more of a priority for him than who his competition is.

While I agree that academics are very, very important to him and his family, I'd imagine playing in the NBA is also a big goal for Reid. Can't imagine that not being a big goal for anyone in the top 50, regardless of how smart they are or how serious they are about academics. Having said that, I think it would be smart for him to go where he feels he can make the biggest impact, and biased or not, I think that place is Minnesota.
