GW you are right.

ISURecruitLists follows up a few minutes later: "Rashad Vaughn tells @NYcoach that he is NOT going to #Kansas for Midnight Madness. Guess I should have read ahead before those other tweets."

Go Gophers!!

The 30% comment is the strangest commment I can remember. If thats not throwing sh$t against the wall I don't know what is... I doubt its based on any information other than her speculation.. not based on talking to Vaughn. Anyway, I would put it much higher than 30%.. I had it pegged at 57.5%.

Ya, what kind of inside information does she have that qualifies her to say 30%. Does Rashad text her? Aside from that, 30% is actually a pretty good chance when you think about all the school recruiting him.

Yeah if he's considering 4 schools equally and no one else that's 25% for each, so 30% is actually pretty good, but it's just pure speculation on her part anyway.

She was asked and I think she probably went about it in a pretty unscientific fashion. She probably thought..."It wouldn't be an absolute shock (5-10%) but it's still not likely (<50%), she came to 30%.

I agree that it's kind of throwing shart against the wall, but I mean, what do you expect? She was asked.

Would "ok to slightly ok" have been a better response?

Tweet from Ryan James: Word from Robb. Cooper is that Rashad Vaughn will be at Minnesota tonight for part of the Tubby's Tip Off Event.

Thats a good sign, anything more than a mediocre (10-8, 9-9) B1G record this year and I think the chance to sign both Vaughn and Travis are greatly improved, have another losing season and there might not be any chance.

It does really seem like we got the inside track on this kid, it'd be great to land him. But yeah, we need a big season, no doubt. Sneaking into the tourney with the expectations coming in also isn't really what I have in mind. Hopefully we can stay injury/drama free for once and just have a full roster to go to battle with. It's been too long since we've had that (I think Tubby's 2nd year).

It's a well known fact that 84.72% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

LOL, it depends on the sample, if your are sampling 65 year old men that read playboy there is a good chance that statistically speaking a high percentage use Viagra. When your sample size is one you have a high margin of error.

That is correct. Each of the last 3 seasons we have had players on the team that could not play in games for various reasons.

2009-10: Royce White and Trevor Mbakwe, Al Nolen 2nd semester
2010-11: Devoe Joseph started the season on a suspension, his first game back (the notorious Virginia game) was Nolen's first game out, by the time the two of them were on the court together, Mo Walker had torn a ligament in the 12th game, and Oto Osenieks couldn't play due to clearinghouse issues
2011-12: Mo Walker out the entire season, then Mbakwe's injury in the 7th game against Dayton, by the end of the season we had 4 forwards out with injuries (Ralph, Mo, Trevor, Oto), but fortunately Andre Hollins and Rodney Williams put the team on their backs in the NIT.

I might be forgetting something, we've had so injuries/off-court issues, and of course this is not including the Cobbs, Carter, Iverson, and Armelin transfers. I think Armelin's is the only one that one could argue was beneficial to the team, because it gave Mbakwe a spot.

Hopefully this season will be that rare season that the roster isn't decimated by injuries and/or suspensions, and we can impress our local recruits with a Sweet Sixteen or better.

Maryland hasn't even offered Vaughn according to his Rivals page. Interesting.

per Doogie scoops:

"Maryland is the latest school to emerge in the sweepstakes for Cooper junior guard Rashad Vaughn. The connection there is that Vaughn plays for Net Gain, an Under Armour-sponsored AAU team. Maryland is an Under Armour school."

Charley Walters: Gophers vs. Duke could sway top recruits

The University of Minnesota men's basketball game against Duke on Thanksgiving Day could significantly affect the Gophers' recruiting future.

Expected to be tuned in are high school juniors Tyus Jones of Apple Valley and Rashad Vaughn of Robbinsdale Cooper. Jones has been offered a tender by Duke. Vaughn is high on Duke's recruiting list. Minnesota is salivating for both.

Jones is the No. 1-ranked junior in the nation by ESPN; Vaughn is No. 9. Jones is the No. 1 point guard, Vaughn is the No. 1 shooting guard.

The Gophers are unranked, but a victory over the No. 9 Blue Devils could be persuasive.

Jones and Vaughn face each other in the Timberwolves' shootout prep tournament Jan. 5 at Target Center before the Wolves' game against Portland.
