Coach P and Kimani Young visited Vaughn last night.

@CoachKimani looks like he's more ready to see a movie than do a home visit right now. Hearing rumors from Vegas that Vaughn has injured his knee and will need surgery. Doesn't sound good. Hope it isn't anything major.

Go Gophers!!

Yikes. That would be awful for him.

Any time surgery is required it's bad (just ask Russ Westbrook as he's now been set back) something you hope to avoid.

He will be back though (if true) no doubt at all about that.

Anyone can have fun in Vegas, but no town gets older faster. Two days can be unbelievable, but four can feel like a year.

I might be the minority on this, But I think Vegas's best days are behind her. 10 years ago drinks were cheaper than Milwaukee, the women were still real, and every casino competed for your dollar. Now everything is overproduced, they're running low on the cheap gluttony, and the leviathan casinos are too over saturated to impress. Every detail is managed to a fault; there's no real adventure anymore outside downtown. That town need is in serious need of an enema.

I think this is true. I'm probably on the younger side as far as GopherHolers go, and Vegas is almost like a joke to my generation. Everything is so overproduced and it's really seen as a place for older folks to "let loose". I'm not saying it isn't a fun place to visit, I went a couple years ago and had a blast. But it definitely isn't the place to go for a party anymore.

Really hope it isn't anything serious. Regardless of whether or not Vaughn will be a Gopher, I'd hate to see his future take a hit because of an injury.

All Things Rashad Vaughn Thread UPDATED 9/24: Vaughn down to 7, including MN

Where are these rumors coming from? There isn't a single tweet about it.

yeah i'll second this. fun place to visit for a few days, but long term gets pretty old if you're going there for the "fun" factor. who knows, maybe rashad spending an extended amount of time there could backfire on unlv as he could have time to realize its not all its cracked up to be

That might have more to do with Findlay Prep and less to do with the actual city of Las Vegas.

*100% OF FINDLAY GRADUATES HAVE QUALIFIED ACADEMICALLY FOR NCAA DIVISION 1
*100% OF FINDLAY GRADUATES HAVE PLAYED DIVISION 1 BASKETBALL

Sorry, no source. TIFWIW. Could be just an internet rumor, but the source is from UNLV.

Got it. Thanks.

I hate to say this, but it seems like if Rashad is truly hurt, this only improves the chances of him staying home or going to a lesser known program like ISU. I can't imagine programs like UNC and Kansas will be as eager if he needs surgery.

I think us, ISU, and UNLV had the best chance anyway.

So basically the source is a UNLV fan who could be trolling the ISU board? I'll wait for confirmation from somebody else.

I think that is the approach most of us are taking at CyFan, as well. Just wanted to pop over here and see if anyone had heard anything similar.

Interesting...

I saw this tweet

and it is "Favorited" by Vaughn.

Hmmm. A little biased. First it was Baylor. Then UNC. Now ISU or UNLV. When the dust settles, I think it's UMN.

The reporter deleted his tweet after GopherHole's tweets.

That kid exposed a violation, got called out, deletes his tweet and expects people to believe this? Too funny. Good work GopherHole

He is a "reporter" for the Iowa State student newspaper.

So he actually talked to the water boy about Rashad Vaughn and mistaked him for the coaches. It's no big deal guys.

Starting to think Reid is our only hope for one of the Big 3. Hopefully we get Mason and Morris to commit soon.

Until this Vaughn matter, I never considered ISU and Hoiberg's operation to be shady. I gave him the benefit of doubt on his halfway house. Now I'm coming around to thinking otherwise. This evident violation just adds fuel to the fire.
