I am truly sad about the passing of Ollie Shannon. I didn't know. The best word I know of to describe his basketball days at the U is SWEET. He was fearless, unselfish and had a touch most players only dream about.

Ollie and his partner Eric Hill could put on quite a show. Both were smooth and fun to watch. I remember UCLA visiting the Barn in 69-70 between the Alcindor and Walton regimes, and we gave them all they wanted.

The Title of the Thread was "All Time Gopher Team from Minnesota".
To be honest, in the last 40 years, we have been fortunate to have too damned many to list.
But to you youngsters, you never got to see many of them, hence you can not judge. The 1st time I went to the Barn was 1958, and I have seen MANY Minnesota Home Kids succeed at the U. I mean the full term players, not the one and doners. They mean $hit to me.
