I see they beat Alabama and I thought they were supposed to be good.
Also, I see Hoiberg's Cyclones are 3-0.
The Cyclones better be 3-0 with the teams they have played.
A) Alabama is a name team but not all that good, B) Iowa is better now with Gatens playing. Clearly the Hawks needed Gatens to soak up a lot of minutes because without him they were turning it over left and right. Now they are taking better care of the ball - not great, just better - and it looks like they're some semblance of a respectable team after all (probably better than PSU and UM). Look for Iowa to beat Long Beach State tomorrow and come out with a 2-1 mark from the V.I. tourney, and having their one loss there to Xavier is not bad. They lost to SDSU, but I don't think any of those type of embarrassing losses are on the horizon for Iowa as long as they stay healthy.
