JohnnyGopher is as plugged in as anyone it seems.

Curious on "not offering the job to anyone".

Not sure if that just means...there is no piece of paper on their desk...or if it means...the real "offer" is just getting them to interview by phone and visit.

Brewster probably makes a list of the guys he wants, then goes down the list in order and asks "are you interested?" without actually offering the job (although it's probably common knowledge that if they say yes, then an offer will be forthcoming). This way, Brewster is never in a positon of formally offering a job to someone who turns it down.

That is how it works at my company....

...for the premium jobs.

No one is offered a job for those...you are asked you interested.

If you are there is an interview (sometimes just via phone...in person for the higher up ones).

And then it goes down as you mentioned.
