Saga reminds of an old commercial - anyone else?

The whole saga made me think of a commercial that will definitely date me.
Remember the add (for what? I do not recall - points to anyone who does...) with Bill Martin and George Steinbrenner - As a joke - In it GS tells Martin "You're fired" (again) and then he really did fire him, and then, IIRC, Martin was rehired and they dubbed the commercial to say "You're hired"

Maybe we can make a fun commercial for Minnesota Golden Gopher Basketball like that!!

See, we could do this w/Royce saying he's staying, he's leaving...
