It's stinks that we lost a five star local product, but I don't get the people upset at Coach Smith and Athletic Director Maturi for not circumventing the legal system.

It's been stated that Clem Haskins' biggest fan was Arne Carlson and all he had to do was call him and threaten to leave. Carlson would supposedly put the heat on the U, this making Clem bigger than Dienhart and Boston. How far did that culture which looked the other way at ethical lapses academically and with the legal system get us?

Pawlenty, Maturi, or Coach Smith could have played that game and made a lot of people happy, but I'm glad they didn't. Too bad that hit could send the program spinning in the wrong direction if we lose Mbawke, Nolen, and don't land Cory Joseph.

Before I retired as a proctologist, I turned my head on an a$$hole. He went to another specialist, and when finished, he was still an a$$hole.

Aene ???

I have to admit never having heard of Arne's culpability for the Clem mess.

Who would have guessed?

;)

I remember reading about it in Sid's book about ten years ago where he mentioned that Arne was Clem's guy and that he'd call the governor when he was upset and he'd get his way. Arne was a big fan and attended a lot of games.

Arnie

Arnie and his wife frequently sat in Section 101 and often ate at the Big 10. I thought he was a good governor during a difficult financial time of our state. I actually bought an autographed gopher team picture at his Forest Lake garage sale. Anyway, I think our state could probably use a governor like him now. (Not for Tubby's sake, but for the citizens.)

Joel maturi for Governor!

Not asking Joel to Circumvent the legal system...just to abide by the rule of law......and LEAD!........

Is Sid Credible? Where is the proof?

Yes. Especially in matters that that involve the Gophers and/or occured in previous decades. He still has more credibility in his little finger then you've ever had, even if he is senile.

I appreciate what Sid does at 80+. I hope I am that well at 80+. However, to use him as a reference for Gophers athletics is like asking Marxs to give his opinion of Communism.
