    Emergence of Dylan Wright

I sincerely believe we’re going to see the emergence of D. Wright as a stud WR this season. The best comparison I can think of is in 2018 when we saw glimpses of unreal talent from R. Bateman (think Indiana game-winner that year). Then, in 2019, Rashod goes off for 60 - 1,219 - 11. Dylan simply...

You HAVE to fire the OC after this game

Sanford Jr. officially needs to go. Why has Sanford joined a new CFB program almost every year? Perhaps because he’s a fraud? Fleck has to do it. I think defenses like Iowa and Wisconsin could make yesterday’s 6-point performance look like The Greatest Show on Turf. I hope I can look back on...

    Ryan Field Getting Renovated

Would like to visit after the upgrades. Went with some buddies in November 2017 and we lost 39-0. It was pouring rain. You could hear a pin drop it was so quiet. If Penn State 2019 was the peak of the Fleck era thus far, Ryan Field and Northwestern 2017 was absolutely the valley (for me at least).

Which Freshmen/RS Freshmen will shine in the Outback Bowl?

Without Kamal Martin playing, I’d have to go with LB Braelen Oliver.

Iowa Fan Here: Love Your Team and Your coach

Classy post, Hawkeye! Was at the game as well, and very much enjoyed the experience despite the outcome. Enjoy the win, and credit to your defensive line - they truly played at a very high level all game - pressuring Morgan, largely stopping our running game, etc.

    Emergence of Rashod Bateman

I attended a spring practice this year at the indoor facility. I knew Rashod had nice potential after last year's season (the late-game TD catch against Indiana comes to mind, for example). At this practice, I was obviously able to watch our WR's from a very close vantage point at field-level...

PJ Fleck Appreciation Post - Discipline

Hello fellow GHers, I just wanted to state my appreciation for having a head coach that preaches DISCIPLINE to his players. I did some basic research, and, not to my surprise, I found that our Fleck-coached Gophers teams simply do not commit many penalties. In other words, we don’t beat...

    Rashod Bateman...

Is leading the B1G thus far in receiving yards/game, averaging 107.4 yards. He has 537 yards in 5 games, good for second in the B1G in total receiving yards. Awesome to see this kid make great progress - such a bright future, most likely on Sundays eventually. Can someone with elite...

    Encouraging Trend

Thought this was an interesting nugget - during Mr. Fleck’s two years here, his teams have been very disciplined regarding penalties, or lack thereof: 2017 season: 28.3 average penalty yards per game, #1 in the nation 2018 season: 39.1 average penalty yards per game, #6 in the nation...

    Gopher 2019 Season Poster Fail

Received this season poster at an open spring practice in Dinkytown. Just realized they forgot to mention a certain game. Look between the Penn State logo (November 9) and the Northwestern logo (November 23) - you should see an Iowa Hawkeye logo in white, but it appears the graphics department...

    March 15 Open Practice Observations

Was able to attend on Friday afternoon. Some of my observations, for what they’re worth: - Antoine Winfield Jr. #11 is in full health. Was doing drills at full speed. Great to see! - Micah Dew-Treadway #18, the Notre Dame transfer, will absolutely be the anchor at DT. I have high confidence...

What’s your 2019 outlook at this moment?

I’m very curious as to what GH thinks. At this moment in time, how are YOU feeling about the outlook of the 2019 season? Here’s my $0.02, if anyone cares: Context: Former GH writer, U of M alum, season-ticket holder who attends nearly all home games and at least one road game per year...

Will you be attending a road game in 2018?

We are now under 100 days until the beginning of the CFB season. As excitement starts to build, do any of you have plans to attend a Gopher road game this season? Or any CFB game NOT at TCF Bank Stadium? Here’s my road trip history (only 24 years old): Fall 2012: Mizzou, Tennessee Fall 2015...

What road games are you planning on attending this season?

Hopefully we can have some decent road crowds, especially for the Iowa game. I'll start: Likely: Iowa, Northwestern Gonna try to make it happen: Michigan (bucket-list sports stadium to experience for me) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lingen / TE Situation

Sorry if this has already been commented on, but what is the status of Brandon Lingen? Will he be ready to go come Buffalo game? I think most would agree that we are (on paper) pretty light at WR heading into the season. Having Lingen as a consistent passing option would help our new QB so...

    November Schedule

Curious to hear the thoughts of other fans. Our schedule (on paper) appears to be very back-loaded. Nov 4 @ Michigan Nov 11 vs. Nebraska (basically a neutral-site game, in terms of fans) Nov 18 @ Northwestern (remember what happened last time we played here?) Nov 25 vs. Wisconsin (no...

    Offensive Approach vs Nebraska

The huskers are pretty brutal against the pass. If you are Limegrover, how do you approach the game? Take advantage of a weak secondary by airing it out (as much as Leidner can) or sticking primarily with the ground game? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Week Two Games

I know week one isn't even completely done yet (hopefully Va Tech can upset OSU again), but what games are you looking forward to most next weekend other than the MN vs CSU game? My thoughts: 1. Oklahoma at Rocky Top. Tennessee was extremely hyped this preseason and we finally will find out if...
