Correct. We get competition at #2/#3 and more options if Brosmer goes down during the season. The guys know there is no competition for #1 and he signed on to that and gets school paid for.
Gotta think with D2 and D3, that with the Portal and attrition, it's hard to have enough guys to play intrasquad, so this is a great option. Not sure I see FBS doing it with so much movement of players between schools right now.
Isn't the guy running NIL a former Gopher football player? There is likely going to be a bit of a lean that way. Plus football is the cash cow at schools. The collective needs to have specific people working for specific sports. It's a full-time job for each sport IMO. Would be interesting...
I get what you are saying, however seasons don't run on halves of a season, it's a whole season as one. Seems odd it would be allowed or the courts would allow it. School to school, calendars don't even match up.
I would think that the NCAA could have a rule that you can't play for more than one team in a season. That is different than making people sit out a whole new season.
