Did “Play Like a Champion Today” come from Minnesota?

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/32338947/notre-dame-oklahoma-battle-play-champion-today “Castiglione doesn't claim Oklahoma as being the originator of the phrase, noting that it is used at schools around the country and at every level. He said all the research the Sooners have...

    FMK: Fleck, Mason or Kill?

Mason had shit support, a shit stadium, and inherited a bad team. He beat Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Fleck, like Brewster, lost to Bowling Green.

Six Illinois Players Enter the Portal

Barry drove a lot of guys off too. I'd see this as a positive if I were an Illinois fan.

Up to 10,000 fans may attend Gophers Spring Game on May 1

They were gone so fast. Wish they'd taken a credit card and charged for no-shows. I bet there will be <2,000 people there.

A Gopher wins Reusse's 2020 Turkey of the Year award

In ‘92 he picked on the kicker, a student athlete. IIRC.

STrib: Big Ten Conference debates if three-week virus sit-out is proper length or too long

That's a terrible headline. It makes it sound like the Big Ten office is debating it but there is nothing in the article to that effect.

Shooter: Gopher legend Bronko Nagurski will be inducted into the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame in Troy, Mich.

Inducted into the college football hall of fame in '51 and the pro football hall of fame in '63. The Polish American Sports HOF is apparently one tough MF of a hall of fame!! :)

Favor to ask the fans in Minnesota, in your state, that still follow Highschool

If they are great TO QB’s and Minnesota doesn’t want them at another position, they are probably too slow for GS. But by all means please recruit any player offered by NDSU but not the Gophers. Their fans are insufferable.

    Way Too Early Top 25

Oregon top six after what they showed in the Rose Bowl and losing their starting QB? I guess maybe the projected winner of the Pac12 has to be top 10, but frankly don't think they belong with the other teams in the top six.

Nebraska has hardest schedule in history of NCAA

If Ferentz leads Iowa to a west title with that crossover, a new QB, and no Epenesa, he should be national coach of the year.

Most AP College Football Championships (an ELITE list)

    Auburn Fan Reactions

I think you are misunderstanding that rule. It is to cover a condition where a punter throws the ball high to simulate a punt so that the guys blocking think it's a punt and continue to block, drawing a flag for PI. The trajectory of the punters pass in this case was not designed to simulate a...

    Hockey = less D I football players

Ben Brinkman would have been the best football player at Edina his junior and senior years (excepting the tackle who went to Norte Dame) but he quit for hockey his junior year and then graduated a year early to get to the U. I have no idea if he was D1 quality in football, but the team would...
