Anyone who took a swing for suspended, it's not a difficult concept. Nothing anyone did prior to Howard taking the first swing deserved a suspension. If the swing never happens no one is even talking about the skirmish at this point.

My take, and I'm fine if no one agrees with it... Up until the point where Howard swung there was nothing that warranted a suspension. Both teams likely would have gotten call from the commissioner asking them to cool it, and that would have been that. After Howard swung all hell broke loose...

Howard was likely pissed because Gard called a timeout inside 30 seconds up big when Michigan was still pressing Wisconsin's scrubs. It was a fairly clean game so I can't think of anything else that would have set him off.

The Kohl Center is a shell of what it used to be. The student section is dead, even in big games.

Not to defend Wisconsin but I don't think their Michigan and Notre Dame games are good indicators of their defensive proficiency. Notre Dame score 21 points in the 4th quarter on special teams and defense. Against Michigan in the second half Wisconsin's offense was on and off the field quickly...
