So a college with a pro football team in town makes the college football in that town less attractive to a national audience, ESPN or Fox? Of the 50 variables in the study I’d guess a pro sports team in town was not one of the 50 or at least well down the list.

For the 16th largest MSA being ranked 25th behind several schools on that list is an indictment of past football and Uof M leadership failures.

20% increase in applications - this is something the in denial academics at the UofM can never admit to - vibrant sports at the university lifts all boats.

Even academics are capable of this backward thinking, self pity, and illogical understanding of supply n demand.

Some coaches can’t (or don’t have to) adjust to the changing college landscape. It just is what it is, no reason to further lament the inevitable. Let’s see where it goes and hopefully there will be still something to enjoy.
