Creighton was driving the ball hard and deep or straight down to the floor, as far as I could tell (a poor ESPN+ connection). I later turned to other matches & saw aggressive players elevating quick-twitch-style and driving the ball pretty viciously. MN's hitting seemed tame by comparison. I...
Gophers may be wise having 6 pitchers on the roster, but more than pitching I worry about potentially having a punchless bottom half of the hitting order.
How do we think Nebr felt losing to MN? Or Iowa felt losing to MN? Or IL felt losing WI? Or WI felt losing INDiANA? How now MN felt losing to IL? The BIG WEST is weak. It seems OSU, MI, and even PSU don't lose in this fashion because they have the talent on the fleld to dominate in strategic...
After watching Fall Ball, I still don't know what to expect from the Gophers in 2024. Will Piper please find one more outstanding hitter in the late fall portal! Not good to see a hitless bottom of the batting order for yet another season.
It would be easy for neysayers to pretend the last half of set 4 didn't happen, but it did. If the Gophers play every bit of every match at that level of intensity from here on out, a lot of opponents will be in big trouble.
I went out last night and watched Gophers softball v. Concordia St. Paul. MN won 3-2 in 8 innings. CSP had only 13 players, but they were pretty good and outplayed & outhit MN most of the game. Their starter pitched all 8 innings.
MN used all 3 Freshmen pitchers. They did well, made batters...
I followed the match on Stats. They screwed up the 3rd set score, first saying NW won 25-23, then it was a tie, then that MN won 25-24, followed by 24-24, and that MN won the match 2-1. What was going on?
