Oh you would be shocked to know how many teams reissue equipment and have padded practices against other schools. And I'm talking from small outstate schools. I am sure the metro is no different. I know of a school we play during the season that scrimmages 4-5 other teams during the summer and...
One thing that many of you probably aren't aware of is that football is treated as a WHOLE different animal than any other sport during the summer. I guarantee that many high school football teams are violating MSHSL policy with their summer football camps and practices. (Edited below to add...
The spring coaches at our school and EVERY other small school around us that I know ABSOLUTELY despise things like JO and AAU. They are destroying sports like track and baseball and softball at small, rural schools. I lose football a couple football players every fall to play in basketball...
Schools could do that, but then they would be banned from post-season play since that is run by the MSHSL. When schools join the MSHSL, they have to abide by all by-laws. As far as I understand, the MSHSL still can be overruled by the legislature, but they are the governing body of high school...
I like that plan. Allow teams to schedule a more challenging schedule if they feel confident. Or pick up rivalries that may be missed because of section schedules and changes.
More classes? Let them have 6 classes in the Metro, I don't care.
They went to district football because there were a handful of 6A teams that nobody wanted to play. The MSHSL answer? Force all teams into district football because they wanted ALL classes to be the same. I was in those meetings...
This is exactly the problem with the MSHSL. They don't care about the best team winning state UNLESS it's 6A football. The football coaches were told directly that 6A playoffs is and WILL BE different than for all other levels. But of course when 6A schools were bitching about not being able to...
This team has a SEVERE lack of talent right now. The eye test doesn't lie. Anyone watching the games this year compared to the last 4-5 years can see this. Anyone that says they still have talent is just being dishonest...
I am in the corner of the most important stat for a QB in our offense is accuracy. So I look at our completion percentage yes, but that can be helped with a couple of great receivers (Johnson and Bateman), so I also trust the "eye test" and Kaliakmanis just has too many throws that are missed to...
I completely agree that we were way outmatched but it is the total lack of any semblance of improvement in ANY area of the offense that gives me so much cause for concern. What area of offense are we better in now than we were in week 1? It seems that our passing game has regressed massively...
I understand that we have lost some talent, especially on defense, due to the transfer portal, but are we the only school in the Big Ten that has lost players to the portal? Does anyone have a list of all the B1G schools portal guys so we can compare. How are these other schools not having...
I really thought coming into the season that the recruiting had gotten so much better the last couple of years. It's obvious that the players might be a little more highly rated, but they seem to have very low ceilings... This is bad... Why is it that every single f'ing time in my 50 years...
