I'm not a detractor. I just present facts. Unfortunately, that paints our coach in a bad light, because he's done nothing of significance yet. Was the shittiest Gopher team of my life also to valuable?
Canisius lost two starters. Clearly their 266th ranked NET team was too valuable to keep together. We also lost Cooper and Battle the year before off the worst team of my life.
We weren't a good team last year.
Would love Evans. Apparently Ole Miss was interested in him, but they just signed a Seton Hall transfer guard, so hopefully they are out of the mix now.
I like the pickup. We know he can play a role for a good team. With more minutes available, is there an increase in production? I think he's a for sure upgrade over Carrington.
You may be right. But that JC team had some other good guards who all transferred up to D1. Avg 11 given that competition isn't that bad, especially as a FR. If he does come, it'll be interesting.
It's admittedly hard to project. But what's better, avg 11 ppg on a pretty bad Pepperdine team or avg 6 ppg on a top 50ish team? I'm not sure. Could he avg 10 ppg like Mitchell did this past season? I think so. Or at least around that. But I think he'd for sure see a spike in his ppg production...
Again, I'm saying the NIL thing is a problem, but our coach doesn't inspire any confidence either. Both can be true. Had we not spent the last 3 seasons being the worst team in the league, maybe the NIL situation would be better.
He would be a good add. Getting a rotational player off a top 50ish team is a solid piece. I would expect him to be about what Mitchell was in terms of production, if not slightly better.
We finished 89th in the NET, we were 87th in BPI and 102 in KPI. We were 77th in KenPom. We were 83 in SoR. Add it all up and it comes to 87.6. Please tell me again how I'm lying.
I haven't seen those projections. I've seen us in ESPN's as Next 4 Out(teams 5-8). Haven't seen the top 40...
