Nebraska fans mocking Fleck again this week

Meh, they've have so little to look forward to for a long time, so little joy. Let them have their fun. Besides, I'm sure PJ Fleck is the kind of guy who would say "I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.".

Mickey Joseph: “You got to recruit your ass off. We ain’t chasing Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. We are chasing Ohio State.”

Whoever Nebraska hires, let's hope he harps on getting back to the way things were done 25 years ago. It's better when they're busy chasing that ghost.

    Our Stadium

Kinnick…. the home of the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles. Haven’t heard much from them since coach Fox left.

Scott Frost FIRED & Updates on Nebraska Coaching Search Thread

There is one interesting thing about Frost's 5-22 all-time record in one-score games that I haven't really seen mentioned before. If Nebraska was actually "so close" to winning all of those games, weren't they equally "so close" to losing all those games by more than one score?

[POST GAME THREAD] Minnesota defeats Illinois 41 - 14

Fleck’s teams always get better the more they play. No practice games this year was a huge problem. Keep the regular guys on the field as much as possible especially against a team like Illinois. Every down is valuable experience. This is a very short season to begin with - more sprint than...

    Minnesota Announces Updated Testing Numbers

And how many of them have lead to or will lead to others being hospitalized? Likely plenty, as the athletes aren’t in a bubble. Not saying they shouldn’t play, just that there is a bigger picture here.

Willis to Grad Transfer from Minnesota

Seems players everywhere are going everywhere these days. Why not just make things simple from here on out in college basketball, and make it like old-school playground pick-up games. Have 20 random guys show up for each game, and have two captains pick teams.

Question for the board: What qualities are important to you in a head coach candidate?

I have no idea how much effort Pitino has put into developing good relationships with Minnesota High School programs or other local Basketball programs, but someone that could do that would be nice. Also, a coach that could recruit more reserve players whose skill sets go beyond merely the...

As Gophers Struggle, Push To Tear Down Williams Arena Begins (Gaard and Shelman chime in, and agree)

Actually, the dirt floor comment was kind of a joke - referencing the original use as a field house/multipurpose facility with a dirt floor (I believe). It would be nice if a new building, if built, could at least nod toward Historic Williams Arena, like TCF has subtle references to Historic...

As Gophers Struggle, Push To Tear Down Williams Arena Begins (Gaard and Shelman chime in, and agree)

For fun I put this quick study together to see what happens when you rotate the floor 90 degrees. While it works, it is still tight, and would definitely result in another quirky arena. It would likely need a good chunk of the pavillion, if not all of it. Note that there are many assumptions...

    Cornhusker “walk on program“

Been reading a bit about the state of the Cornhusker program (trying to gauge at what year they might be a major concern for the Gophers), and I keep seeing references to a “walk on program”. Curious if anyone here knows much about it? Sounds to me like something that may have been a big deal in...
