I think the stat I love the most with this Hopkins team is this:

Gophers recruit Royce White scored 13 points to pace four Hopkins players in double figures.

This is exactly why I think Hopkins (or any team with this balances scoring) will be so hard to beat. You can shut down one or two guys, but not 4 or 5.

I've got to look up their schedule and see a game or two. I heard this is perhaps the best Hopkins team ever -- that's saying something.

I would say just about every Hopkins game should be a good one, since they are the team to beat, teams will be gunning for them and bring their "A" game to get the upset.

The game against Lake Geneva Badger is part of the Timberwolves event at the Target Center, and the games against Marshall and Milwaukee Vincent are at an event in St. Paul. I would doubt that any of those teams will really challenge Hopkins. Vincent will probably give them the best game, but I don't believe they are as good as they have been in past years.

Hopkins plays Vincent at 8 PM at Johnson Jan 23rd in the East Metro Showcase. Marshall plays Arlington in the game before that at 6 PM. It'll be interesting to see what Vincent does with their new coach. They still have a couple of guys who can play despite losing the state's #1 sophomore due to a transfer.

The most interesting game of the non-Minnesota ones for Hopkins is the one on Feb 13th in New York that might be played at Madison Square Garden.

Ignore MaxPreps stuff since the StarTrib doesn't use it anymore and its notoriously slow anyway. All of the conference websites and the state high school league site are more reliable.
