She has led a life of material gifts and terrible tragedies. On camera she appears to be an introvert, ill suited for the senatorial appointment process and particularly ill suited for a real campaign. On a personal level, I hope that she let's go of this dream (fantasy). Politically, if she is appointed, I think that seat is likely to turn republican in 2010. She is not her father and uncles. She is not a campaigner.

She should make her run in Massachusetts. The name Kennedy gets you reelected again and again even if you ran your car off a bridge and ran away leaving your girlfriend to drown while you sober up and then worry about covering up your good name and don't even inform the police about what happened.

I agree. I'm not a big Kennedy fan, but Caroline has exhibited class all the way. Unfortunately, she hasn't done anything to demonstrate she should be a Senator (of course neither has Al Franken), and too much class might actually put her at a disadvantage, i'm sorrry to say.

I was/am a fan of JFK and RFK. I do realize no one is perfect. They were not (yes, I know RFK was never President), neither has any President. My Kennedy fandom ends right there, but Caroline can be the exception. RFK Jr is particularily detached from reality. I do admire Ted for his willingness to be so bodaciously wrong and be proud of it, but having had that voice out there strengthens our country. All voices of America need to be heard. No hate here (at least not at this second). The Kennedy children had just way too much money and time on their hands. This isn't unusual in dynasties. As the exception (that I am aware of), I'm not so sure Caroline's voice in the Senate would be a negative. She has conducted herself with class. Although I have many disagreements with her views it is impossible for me to disrespect her or her views (as expressed by her). I wouldn't worry about her losing her Senate seat quickly. I don't see the Repubs getting their stuff together very fast and Obama's early appointments have been strategically disarming. Caroline could end up a star of the Senate. I say give her a chance. My choice would likely be be Rep King, but I'm no Gov Patterson and I sing praises to God Almighty for that.

Her father, mother, and uncles have nothing to do with her experience and qualifications to walk into high office unelected. Probably a very nice lady, but she's hoping her family legacy will intimidate the governor. Lacking any prior aspirations, she sees an open door and wants to coast through unchallenged. If this were a Republican, the media would ridicule her attempt and do its best to destroy her.
