The Gopher women's volleyball team picked up two more wins over the weekend, sweeping both Purdue and Indiana on the road on Friday and Sunday. It looks like Gibbemeyer was awesome against the Hoosiers, hitting .435 for the match according to the match blog on Gophersports.com. with 13 kills. Dieter had 14 kills for the Gophers as well.

Speaking of awesome, Ariana Filho almost set a school record against the Boilermakers, hitting at a .909 clip in the Gophers win over Purdue.:eek::eek:

The Gophers are now tied for first place in the Big Ten with Penn State and are 13-3 overall along with 4-0 in the Big Ten. The ladies come home to host Ohio State next. Congrats to coach Hebert and the ladies on another successful weekend!!!:clap:

PS- As an aside, the Gopher women's soccer team is leading South Dakota 4-0 at the half. The Jackrabbits aren't providing much competition, but it's apparently been a strong performance by coach Denney-Wright's team regardless.

Here's an update, the soccer team downed South Dakota 9-0 to move to 9-2-2 on the season. And let me correct myself, USD is the Coyotes not the Jackrabbits (sorry to any USD alums!!!).

Anyway, Katie Bethke had four goals for the Gophers on the day, giving her a Big Ten high 11 for the year.

Both teams are in a tie for first place in the Big Ten at this point. Congrats to both teams on good weekend showings!!!
