If you want to change your pick, please add a new post rather than editing your original pick and note it's a change in the header. (It's easier to pick up and make the change this way.)
Even if you haven't made a pick yet, you're welcome to start at any time through 11/30/08. If you're not familiar with the way this works -- or want to check on the rules -- please review the Small Print (below). And, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Small Print
Here's the way Pick-per-Day (PPD) works:

1. You make one pick per day by selecting a team and the point spread that's offered.
For example, if Florida is favored by 22.5 points versus Toledo and you choose Florida, you pick Florida -22.5
If instead you think that spread is too generous, you pick Toledo +22.5

2. The pick must be in required format (see#5 below) and submitted by that day's deadline.

3. Picks on weekdays are usually due at 5:00 while picks on weekends and holidays will usually be due at 12 noon.

4. Please verify your pick was recorded when the posting is Closed and please check the next days tally to make sure I correctly credited you with the win or loss. Mistakes will happen and I'm more than happy to go back a day or two and figure out what went wrong and then make any corrections. But I really don't want to go back a couple of weeks and try to recalculate the wins and losses.

5. All picks must be entered using this format:

Moniker: Team and Spread
(e.g. MNSnowman: Minnesota +1)

Picks that are submitted after the deadline without making prior arrangements or do not use this format will not be counted in that days tally

6. If you want to change your pick, please add a new post rather than editing your original pick and please note it's a change in the header. (It's easier to pick up and make the change this way.

7. Later in the season, I may create two divisions to reflect those who participate regularly versus those who are more sporadic. This is done to reduce the likelihood of someone getting a relatively high winning percentage and resting on their laurels.

Another losing night with a 7-11-1 record (.389). The cumulative record for the first seven days is 69 - 57 - 1 for a .548 record.

The consensus pick was Vanderbilt and UCLA (4 picks apiece) so the cumulative consensus record dropped to 6 - 4 (.600).

A few comments:

Vandy let down four of the 'holers, losing to the Illini 69-63. Illini won despite a 37% shooting percentage. ATTF is muttering about Jike and/or Zales jinxing the pick.
Nice game tonight by Michigan ... how many of us were discounting Michigan this year before seeing them tonight? UCLA was also picked by four -- so that was the second consensus loss.
Tonight was our season's first "push" with Xavier favored by 4 and beating Missouri by four.
Some high scoring games tonight. As noted elsewhere, Texas Tech scored 167 points against a Division 2 opponent -- which scored 116 points. And, New Mexico beat Grambling State 96-50.

I think PPD has made the transition to the new forum successfully.

But with the changeover to a new forum plus the addition of a few new participants plus a couple of changes in monikers, there's room for mischief.

Please check your standings and let me know if there are any problems. Thanks!
