Gophers' forward Jordan Murphy is set to embark on his senior season and has set the bar high for the 2018 team. Murphy posted 17 consecutive double-doubles to open last season, tying Tim Duncan's NCAA record. Despite the team lacking depth down low, Murphy still managed to accumulate 24 double-doubles in 32 games. He averaged 16.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in 2017. Murphy was not selected as a preseason All-American candidate in 2018, but was named to the preseason All-Big Ten team. The star power forward isn't getting caught up in the outside noise as he prepares for this season. Head coach Richard Pitino said his dream is to see Murphy play in the NBA. Pitino noted his lateral quickness was a major key to making a big jump. NBA scouts have mentioned his production, but the next step to elevating his game starts with the details. Murphy caught up with GH to preview the 2018 season:

Following shoulder surgery, 6-foot-8 guard Amir Coffey played in just 2 of the Gophers' final 14 games last season. During this timeframe, Minnesota lost 14 of their final 16 games to finish with a 15-17 overall record. The loss of the Gophers' versatile guard drastically impacted the team's lineup. When on the floor, Coffey averaged 14 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He has recovered from left shoulder surgery and is set to make his return in the Gophers' opener on Nov. 6 vs. Omaha. Fans might see more of Coffey at point guard this season as the coaches try to take advantage of his length, ball-handling and passing ability. GH asked him about playing in this role and learned more about his rehab process:
