Holy #&@! just saw this on TV, some Iraqi journalist just chucked two shoes at Bush during a press conference. Gotta admit, George did a good job dodging them.

He easily dodges what would have been a hit. Good job, George. I have trouble dodging the shoes on the soccer ball heading game, and its remarkable how much a panda head looks like a soccer ball.

I am disturbed on several levels that someone would (and could) throw something at the POTUS. However, if it were possible to separate W. from the position he holds (and it probably isn't) I would say that there is a certain poetic justice in the act.

According to KSTP's news broadcast, throwing shoes in Iraq is an extreme insult. Who woulda thought? (Throwing socks is apparently less of an insult ... no word on slippers but I haven't seen Fox News as yet and I'm sure that they'll have it covered.)
I have to admit I was surprised that guy was able to get the second shoe in the air before being, well, "quieted."
BTW, word is that the guy was a reporter for Iraqi TV. Station must have a shoe-string budget if they can't vet their reporters better.

great reflexes! i also liked the one-liner after the incident: "the only thing i can report is that it was a size 10".

I'm somewhat surprised that Bush didn't step away from the podium and moon the guy.

here's what would be chucked at Bush in no particular order:
1. 401 statements...
2. Foreclosure notices...
3. "pink slips" from your employer...
4. medical bills that caused bankruptcy....
All "floaters" for sure, but attached to a brick would mean a different story.......
