This is sort of cheap and I feel like ruesse even bringing it up because it's so unfair. I think this columnist is a good buddy of the Tribune's most ardent Gopher hater. He's talked about hanging out with Whicker at events they've covered together, and Whicker used to come on Ruesse's radio show and do imitations of golfers like Seve and Ben Crenshaw. He also did a Moses Malone routine that was basically racist focusing on stereotyped speech patterns. It's interesting to read Whicker's reaction and apology. He doesn't get it and it's not really an apology where he seems sorry for the original column. I know this is guilt by association but you're partly defined by the company you keep. They both are capable of writing real cr....er....ruesse.
