Biggest surprise: Minnesota. Northwestern would be the obvious answer had it not lost to Illinois at home to open the week. The Gophers entered the week floundering, losers of five in a row after a 3-1 Big Ten start that had propelled them into the rankings. Now, the Golden Gophers are winners of three in a row (at Illinois, Iowa, at Rutgers) and looking primed to make a run at an NCAA bid with an 18-7 mark and a 6-6 Big Ten record, a year after going 8-23 (2-16). And four of Minnesota’s last six games are at home. Looking good in Dinkytown for a program that hasn’t been in the NCAA tourney since 2013, when Tubby Smith was coach.

Best stat line: Jordan Murphy, Minnesota. The previously struggling sophomore hit 10-of-13 shots en route to scoring a career-high 25 points in Minnesota’s 101-89 double OT win vs. Iowa on Wednesday; he also pulled down 19 rebounds and swatted four shots. Can’t ignore Vincent Edwards’ clean (8-of-11) 26-point, eight-rebound, three-steal night in Purdue’s road win at rival Indiana, either.

Go Gophers!!

Any chance Murphy gets National Player of the Week honors?

Certainly he'll be B1G Player of the Week.

No clue what kind of performances he will be up against but would certainly think you could make a very strong case for him based off of the way he played in the last two games. Man I hope that continues for the rest of the season.
