I didn't know where else to put this, so of course I needed to start a new thread:

Yea, I kind of think that is why UU posted it. I never understood why someone named Richard would choose to go by the name Dick.

Names are funny things. Like last names for instance. Many, many years ago, if my name was John, and I had a son named Richard, he would be known as Richard, son of John, which later became Richard Johnson. The same thing with the last name Smith, which came from naming people who worked with metal, or "smiths". And on and on.

Makes you wonder where the last name Dick-in-son comes from.....
