Is it for sure the Insight Bowl? Anybody hear anything?

It'll be Insight unless 1 of 2 things happen:
1) Fiesta picks Boise St instead of OSU
2) Champ Sports picks MN instead of Wisky.
Both scenarios are highly doubtful IMHO.

I think you are right on both counts. Thanks.

and he has the Gophers in the Insight as most of you have said. The matchup against Kansas will be a tough one.

The other interesting thing to read from mandel's article is that 4 6-6 teams will be left out of bowls since there are 72 teams for 68 spots. Three of the 4 teams he has left out: Northern Illinois, Bowling Green, and Florida Atlantic.
Something tells me I've seen those teams before....

The third option was a hot rumor last week, but has simmered down. The third option was the Wisconsin would decline the Champs invite so they could go somewhere other than Florida. They have been to Orlando 5 of the last 6 years. The rumor was that would put Minnesota into the Champs.
Again, that has lost some legs in the last few days. Insight seems the likely destination. That beats Detroit!!

The Big Ten Network is running a Bowl Selection special at 8:00 tonight.
This is an excerpt from the ESPN Big Ten blogger.

Kansas has started to sell tickets for the Insight Bowl, and it appears as though the Jayhawks will face Minnesota on New Year's Eve in Tempe, Ariz.
A source familiar with Minnesota's bowl situation told me the Gophers are a virtual lock to play in the Insight Bowl for the second time in three years. The source said he's "99 percent sure" the Gophers will end up in Tempe.
The only thing that could block Minnesota from the Insight is if Ohio State doesn't earn a BCS at-large berth. A USC loss today could block the Buckeyes from the BCS, but everyone in the Big Ten is preparing for Ohio State to join Penn State in the big bowls.
Should Minnesota end up in the Insight Bowl, Wisconsin will go to the Champs Sports Bowl and face an ACC opponent. There has been some debate as to whether the Badgers wanted a fifth consecutive trip to a Florida bowl game, but barring a shake-up, they'll head back to the Sunshine State.
Big Ten Conference, Minnesota Golden Gophers, Kansas Jayhawks, Wisconsin Badgers, USC Trojans, Ohio State Buckeyes, Insight Bowl

It's been reported on our board for a few days now, but it's been made official today. Can't wait for December 31st to get here.

Good luck Kansas.
This is great for Minnesota. We get a bowl game right in Taylor Lewan's back yard. I'd like to see him put the Minnesota hat on for that game. :)
Does anybody know what bowl Michigan is going to? :D
