Isiah Thomas already in the spotlight

For all the wrong reasons, although it appears the FIU AD has more to say about this situation than Thomas. Still, I am guessing if Thomas truly was empathetic to Asprilla, he would be granted his release.

The level of deception the AD is attempting to display in this story is appalling. "Convinced" FIU is the best option for Freddy? Just admit that you don't want to completely tank on the court next year and that having this kid in the mix is about your only option towards that goal at this point.
It may not be all that desirable of a position to take publicly, but at least it's honest.

But to try and paint this as "this is the best possible place for Freddy" and they are truly "looking for what is best for Freddy" is completely laughable. Forget what the kid wants, it's all about the fact that the AD already "knows" there isn't a better fit somewhere else for him. And predictably, Thomas is going right along with it. Simply unbelievable. Makes FIU look like a bunch of greedy, dishonest fools.
