The following is my College Basketball News' All-Metro team.

J.T. Gibson, a 6-foot-3 senior guard from Champlin Park, is my choice for the College Basketball News’ Metro Player of the Year. Gibson, a Nebraska-Omaha signee, has helped pace the Rebels to a 24-0 mark and a number one ranking. He is averaging 18.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Gibson had a season-best 38 points versus Apple Valley and scored in double figures in all but two games, both blowout victories. Top seed Champlin Park faces eighth seed Robbinsdale Cooper in the first round of the Section 5AAAA playoffs.

Sacar Anim, a senior 6-foot-4 wing from Minneapolis DeLaSalle, committed to Marquette earlier this week. Anim helped lead the Islanders to their third state Class 3A state title in March as they finished 26-3 last year and won its last 23 games. Anim has helped lead DeLaSalle to a 20-4 record as he is averaging 24.0 points per game. He has scored 30 or more points five times and has 12 more contests of more than 20 points. Top seed DeLaSalle faces eighth seed Como Park in the first round of the Section 3AAA playoffs.

Gary Trent Jr., a 6-foot-5 sophomore from Apple Valley, has helped lead the Eagles to a 24-2 record. He is averaging 21.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Trent Jr. has scored in double figures in 25 of 26 contests with a season-high 42 points versus Minnetonka. He is shooting 48.7% from the field, 43.0% from three-point range and 82.2% from the charity stripe. Trent Jr, who is the top Minnesotan in the Class of 2017, has scholarship offers from Minnesota, Providence and Texas Tech. Top seed Apple Valley faces eighth seed Henry Sibley in the first round of the Section 3AAAA playoffs.

Steffon Mitchell, a 6-foot-7 junior forward from Shakopee, is averaging 24.8 points and 8.8 rebounds for the 19-7 Sabers. He has scored in double figures in all 25 games, including a season-high 43 points versus New Prague. Mitchell has scored 20 or more points in 22 of his 25 games. Mitchell has scholarship offers from Central Michigan, North Dakota State, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Furman. Top seed Shakopee faces eighth seed Bloomington Kennedy in the first round of the Section 2AAAA playoffs.

Marshawn Wilson, a 6-foot-2 senior guard from Hill-Murray finished the season on a high note as he had 53 points and 25 rebounds in a 93-88 in the season finale over Simley. Wilson is averaging 26.0 points per game. He is shooting 57.3% from the field, 77.1% from the free throw line and 41.4% from three-point range. Wilson was also named to the Minnesota Vikings’ All-State team as a football player this year. Second seed Hill-Murray faces seventh seed South St. Paul in the first round of the Section 4AAA playoffs.
