Personally I think the NCAA should give them another year of postseason ban for three reasons. First, Syracuse knew what they had this season, knew their team wasn't great and that it wasn't a big loss for them to have a ban now with little to lose considering the mediocre quality of the team (for them). Second, the timing was carefully selected by Syracuse, during the season & on football NLI day to get as little attention from the college media as possible, and there is not much time left in the season for the media to talk about it whereas if they had it talked about he whole season it would be more of a real penalty for the season as opposed to a 2-month penalty. Third, the players didn't know they were going to have a ban until so late in the season that it is a stab in the back to them, in particular the senior captain was given no opportunity to transfer elsewhere to a program where he could play in the postseason while most players who are on a team with a postseason ban get knowledge of it in the offseason with the opportunity to transfer if the ban is the length of the sanctions.
