I attended the first 2 games with the Twins vs the Cubs and it was great. The whole atmosphere inside and out. Now I know why we appreciate the Barn. I thought there were lots of Twins fans when I went to Kansas City but the last 2 days were ridiculous.
Win Twins!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Gophers!!!!!!!!!!

maroon,
I assume you didn't notice the sidewalk weeds, bird poop on the armrests, stench of week-old garbage, and rotted ceilings. Wrigley should be a pristine monument to a city and its baseball, not a neglected relic of the past.

...bird poop on the armrests...
It's an outdoor stadium, *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# happens. ;)

*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# removal should also happen...more often than once per home stand.

I've been to Wrigely, Fenway, Old Yankee, Comerica, and Miller. Wrigely is my favorite place to watch a baseball game.

ak,
Have you ever sat in one of my favorite seats at Wrigley? It's one of them where you can see home plate if you lean left, but then you can't see 1B. Or you can lean right and see 1B, but not home plate. All the while holding your nose to protect from the stink. Gotta love it.

I had nice seats, next time will be in the bleachers. My only complaint was the fans, kind of like many Wild fans in that they aren't into the game as much as saying they were at or are going to the game. The worst fans were at Fenway when people were griping about having to watch the Twins play, like it was beneath them to have to allow a team from the midwest into town.

I was at Saturdays game and the chicks behind us were priceless...maybe clueless is the better answer. One kept asking the others, "why is everyone cheering at the wrong times?" Twins fans took over that stadium for three days = great.
I have to laugh at G4L ripping on Wrigley. I had to lean to the right to see the batter and wouldn't have had it any other way.

With the current demand for Cubs tix, it doesn't surprise me at all how many Twins fans got in the stadium last weekend. You have to wait in a virtual line online for 4 hours for the chance to buy tickets for one game. By the time you get through the virtual line again all the tickets for the season are basically gone, so you have to choose your games wisely.
The Twins series is way down the list for weekend series for Cubs fans, so while Cubs fans were picking up the high demand opponents, the Twins fans were online getting tickets for an interleague series that doesn't have much sizzle. I'm sure it made for a good atmosphere though.

Or cheat and open 50 browsers like I did.
And G4L, do you enjoy anything?

Even with 50 browsers open, I imagine most Cubs fans would put the Twins series near the bottom when ranking the weekend series for the season. I mean, if Cubs fans really want to see the Twins, they can drive down the street and watch them at the Cell. The whole Central vs Central interleague series doesn't really do much if you are in a town with both divisions.

tikited,
I'm "ripping" on ownership which has allowed Wrigley to rot though the years. As a result, it's not the cherished baseball sanctuary that it should be.
Nate,
I don't enjoy lazy, sloppy, or irresponsible.

Other than the stink part, your description of an old venue with challenging sight-lines reminds me of a local hoops gem that we get sensitive about when it faces similar criticism.

When it comes to old ballparks, Wrigley has fewer blemishes compared to others. The two recently abandoned parks in New York were in far worse shape - the old Yankee Stadium was a complete dump. Milwaukee's County Stadium was in total disrepair at the end (though I still prefer it to Miller Park). Tiger Stadium was my personal favorite, even though it struggled to the finish line.
All homerism aside, the Dodgers have done an outstanding job maintaining Dodger Stadium. You would never guess that place is nearly 50 years old. But regardless of condition, in most cases, I'll take the old parks over the new.

Advice to Wrigley visitors: when at a concession window, never look up at the ceiling to see the mold that may be dropping onto your hot dog.

Then again, my $325 seats were in the 3rd row behind home plate.

Yeah, down there they wipe off the seats, bring concessions directly to you, and say "Yes, sir."
