He's a point guard out of New York who played for AAU House of Sports. Perhaps he's taking our open scholarship…but he didn't have any offers….perhaps he's a preferred walk on? I don't know….but must be a Kimani recruit.

He has been retweeting gopher stuff for a long time? Welcome to Minnesota!
 

He had an offer from Manhattan, could be a nice addittion as a walk-on.
 



So is he a walk on or is he going to try and walk on? Why would we have two pg walk ons?

There is a big difference. I'm sure we all went to school with that guy who was gonna walk on at university xyz, 4 yrs later he's embossed on the frat wall of shame.

I know nothing about the kid, just curious why we didn't hear about his visits or anything else?
 

I remember hearing about his visit way back but then nothing after that. At any rate we have a walk on this year from tryouts and now we have another one. I know Pitino likes to run fast practices and at times needs fresh legs and more bodies to keep up the pace. That was why he held tryouts last year. The Shell's of the world have an important role on this team and we are lucky they are happy to pay their own way and work their butts off despite never getting the glory. Awesome to have a guy come all the way from NY and pay outstate tuition. That's great recruiting.
 

This is way out of left field. Makes me wonder if Papa Bear got a little too excited when he was communicating with GopherLady?
 

So this kid is a much better caliber walk on than Halvorsen and Shell, more of a Shanks caliber preferred walk on?

Most of us had never heard of this guy a few hours ago, and now he's a great walk-on? When I hear it from someone other than his father that he's actually coming here, then I'll believe there's legitimate interest from Pitino & staff.
 


I get the feeling this will be the young man's father's 5 minutes of fame.
 



Why exactly are you being so weird and unwelcoming about this? He's a walk-on. Do you expect to have heard a lot about his recruitment? I can't figure out how you think this might be some big joke. Seems like a pretty dumb/weird joke to play. Not sure what anyone would get out of that.

Just a gut feeling something's a little off on this one. Perhaps Amelia or Marcus will enlighten us next week after the Louisville game has come and gone?
