Seems like a good time to repost this

Good call Coolhand. The NCAA has proven itself to be very selective in who gets probationary violations and who does not. Some of the rhetoric coming out of Indianapolis in regards to "fine-tuning" its investigative strategies, is almost laughable. The Auburn case was a joke, Florida State should be getting absolutely slammed while USC has some serious explaining to do as well. This doesn't even cover on-going cases with Indiana and Memphis.

And as we've seen, this leads to the NCAA metaphorically shaking it's fist at these problems before eventually backing down with the "well, what you did was wrong. But, hey, it's okay. We still like you. A LOT." But this only applies if you're a big program. If your smaller, look out, as Tarkanian pointed out years ago.

Overall, a very good column by Dan Wetzel. Nice to see a member of the media call out the NCAA on this joke of a discipline system they are currently trying to feed the public.
