One of the Gophers' all-time great team captains is coming back to the program as the AP and the Star Tribune are reporting that Grant Potulny has accepted a position on the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for next year.

I must admit, I'm pretty excited about this move. One thing we've really been lacking over the past few years is leadership. Who better to help out with showing guys how to lead than one of the Gophers' best ever captains?

At any rate, it will be great to have Grant around the program again!!!:D

Welcome back Grant!!!!!

That is great news. I watched he and his brother play junior A hockey here in Lincoln. Nobody better in front of the net on the power play.

Great news for the program. I still remember Grant scoring the winning goal in that championship game against Maine. Great to have him back he resembles everything that is great about Gopher hockey.
