Shooter: DeAndre Mathieu named team MVP

The season ended a good six weeks ago - are they just hosting the team banquet tonight? Per Shooter:

Point guard DeAndre Mathieu on Thursday night was named the Gophers men's basketball team's most valuable player.

The coach probably preferred to have the banquet now as he had a lot of recruiting work to do at the end of the season. Not only that, having it in conjunction with commencement week-end seems like a pretty good idea. Probably get more family members in town that way.
