Go Gophers!!

FYI, the ranking is based on the athlete's second best sport. Kinda weird that Mauer is ranked so high considering he only played football in high school.

People forget that the Vikings drafted Winfield as well. I think the NFL had 15 rounds (or something like that back then and the Vikings picked him really late).

If they go by second sport as they claim, Ed "Too Tall " Jones? C'mon man. He sucked at boxing. Chris Weinke? Really? Minor leaguer, never touched the majors.
Shoot, locally Paul Giel, Bud Grant, Jim Carter. Nationally Dave DeBussschere comes to mind. Hell, The Rifleman, Chuck Connors, also played in both the majors and NBA like DeBusschere.

He's the only person to be the number one recruit in two sports Bobby Bowden kept a scholly open for Mauer until he stepped down
