Pitino puts his perfect record against wisconsin on the line. Wisconsin has rebounded a little since we last played them. Hopefully Dre is nearly back to 100% and we don't see any injuries this time around. The key will most definitely be to attack the paint via Mo in the post and Mathieu on the dribble drive. We are going to have to defend the 3 well and make sure we REBOUND because wisconsin will hurt you with second chance points. This would be a big one in terms of of getting us back on the path to securing an at-large bid. It would also be sweet to sweep 'Bo's best team ever.' ;)

Remaining games after this one:

@NW
Illinois
@tO$U
Iowa
@Michigan
PSU

Not an easy schedule. We likely need at least 3 more wins total, so like I said, a win @ wisconsin would be big for us.

Winning this one would put us back in the driver's seat in terms of a tournament berth. Huge one for the Gophers to get.

This will be a tough one. Wisconsin is playing well, will be highly motivated to beat us, and I'm 99.99% sure they'll have the refs on their side. We scored 81 on them last time but I think they'll be allowed to be more physical against us and will pack the paint more. We'll keep it close but it will be a struggle to get the W. Hope I'm wrong.

Definitely a big one here, I hope Dre's looking for revenge in the form of a 30 point night after the last one.

How many posts until 19 complains about the start time? I'll set the over/under at post 19.

Good news! The GH will be represented at the Kohl Center Thursday! I just got invited to go for free. Got good corporate tickets too. You should also be aware that I was there the last time we won at the Kohl Center, so this could be a good omen.

Nice try, but I've already addressed the 8 pm starts. That won't change and is workable.

I will add though there was some complaining about the start time on the upcoming PSU game by others................maybe Goldvision will realize it's not just me.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.:cool02:

A win Thursday would put the Gophers in a tie for 4th place.

A win Thursday would put the Gophers in a tie for 4th place.

And yet they are only two wins better than the last place team.
What a meat grinder of a conference.

Fox Sports: Badgers plan to crank up defense versus rival Gophers

The Gophers are the only team this season to score at least 80 points against the Badgers, who haven't forgotten how porous their defense was that night.

"They killed us on ball screens," said Wisconsin center Frank Kaminsky, who played only 15 minutes in that game because of foul trouble. "That was kind of our weakness for a couple games. I think we really cleaned that up a little bit, game by game. If you see, teams really haven't been getting to rim on us off ball screens like they were, especially in the Indiana and Minnesota games."

Go Gophers!!

A win Thursday would put the Gophers in a tie for 4th place.

It is crazy after the top 3. Hard to believe but if the Gophers beat Wisconsin and Northwestern, they'll hold the #4 seed (and a bye) for the BTT heading into their final 5 games.

Winning this one would put us back in the driver's seat in terms of a tournament berth. Huge one for the Gophers to get.

Must wins: @NW, Penn State and Illinois
Win one of these: @ Wisc., Iowa, @OSU, @ Mich
Bottom line: 9-9 and in the dance

I think they'll be allowed to be more physical against us and will pack the paint more.

I agree. Whether we win the game will be determined by how well we shoot from the outside. There will be open 3's. If we hit a reasonable percentage of them, I think we will win the game. We probably won't get a ton of free throw attempts, but let's make 75-80% of them and I like our chances.

Wisconsin has a tough time matching up with us on paper, because they have nobody quick enough to stay in front of Mathieu, and their interior defenders can be exploited (Kaminsky is slow, Hayes is talented but short for the post). Wiscy will probably get a boost from the intangibles of wanting revenge, and the crowd, and probably will get more than their share of calls. They'll probably shoot better than they did at Williams. We need to stay composed and confident that we're the better team, just like Michigan did at OSU last night.

In honor of MplsHawk who hates ME for saying things like: (He sent me a PM before the Iowa game telling me I have no class. Oh well.)

WISCONSIN SUCKS!!!

GO GOPHERS!!!

Hayes was impressive last game, we had no answer for him. He's too big and powerful for Oto and King, but too quick for EE and Mo.

And I trust Coach Pitino to come up with a plan to give us the best chance to win at Wisky, and make for a season sweep. How sweet would that be? Remember, Gopher Fans:

WISCONSIN SUCKS!!!

Agreed. We have to stop him tonight. Man, he's going to be scary good in 2 years. Anyone hear the story about him going to the hs gym after the game vs Indiana? Impressive.

I am just glad he plays for Bo, who has kept this best offensive weapon on the bench most of the year. He has put up 15pts, 4 reb on 67% shooting in his last 3 games. He is good against man, not a great shooter against the zone. Hard to zone Wisconsin if they have all 5 guys hitting 3's. Key is not to help and give up the wide open 3 on this team.

My keys to the game: Mathieu and Mo need to avoid foul trouble. Malik and Dre have to hit their 3's at a good clip.

Very good keys. It would also be nice if EE could have a bounce back game. It has been a while.

Yeah, he hasn't been terrible lately but definitely not as good as he was earlier in the conference schedule. He needs to rebound and play good D and not try to do too much on the offensive end.

I appreciate the alliteration at the beginning of this post. Good work.

Hopefully Pitino can provoke peerless post production from Elliot and Mo.
