Posted this in the recruiting thread but I suppose it deserves it's own thread as well.

Mods feel free to add the s to the title, my bad.

Just saw this on the Scout sight myself, very glad to have Khari B. joining the Gophers!

Excellent!! Odd to see that he is the 22nd best prospect in the state (Alabama)(according to Rivals at least) and MN and NW are his two best offers. Either way......always nice to get some d-back commits.

It is nice to beat out Northwestern for a guy with a 28 ACT score!

Another Gopher target:

Great news. I was really hoping this guy would choose us.

Fantastic news! I thought for sure Fitzgerald would steal him away.

Welcome aboard Khari!

Nate Andrews was rated the 22nd best in Alabama last season.

He hits like a freight train and has some speed.
Yep, he was laying some wood in that video. He looks like a pretty good athlete too from the RB position. Welcome aboard!

Looks like a good recruit. I bet this kid could easily make the switch to WR if needed, he reminds me a little of Desmond Howard the way he runs.

Khari - welcome to Minnesota! We're glad to have you and believe you'll enjoy your new home away from home.

Ski-U-Mah and Go Gophers!

Great news, read elsewhere that the late Northwestern offer was something to worry about. The staff has done a nice job identifying players from Alabama, but have had a little trouble getting them to become Gophers.

Great get! It seems like Blasingame was a Gopher lean for a long time but Northwestern jumping in clouded things up a bit, I'm pumped we were able to hold onto him. Just another one of those players Minnesota recruits that doesn't have a great offer list but when you watch their highlights you come away impressed.

One of the best reasons to be excited about this commit is that Sawvel has a proven ability to identify talent (Thompon, Murray, Johnson, Travis) and has been blown away by Blasingame since the spring. The staff has no idea why this kid doesn't have a half dozen SEC offers.

I am glad you were wrong but I won't tell anybody.;) (Who knows what kind of reaction that could set off here.)

All it takes is an Auburn or FSU to get serious after the title game and we could be holding on for dear life. Signing day is still 7 weeks away.

Great get so far.

You know very little about the South. Blasingame's parents insisted that he take the official to Northwestern because they want him to go to a good school. There still exists the belief in parts of the South the belief that you need to go to the North to get a good education. The lack of SEC offers could be an indication that Blasingame's parents are among them.

Hopefully FSU or Auburn don't offer = you know nothing about the south???

Sheesh. (Although clearly you know nothing about late 17th century Dutch pottery)

wtf does that mean? can you explain how universities in the south are worse at providing good educations than universities in the north?

sometimes minnesotans can be as bad as southerners in the obstinate provincialism.

Northern universities by and large are still higher quality than those in the South. That's hardly a groundbreaking or controversial statement, and one that even most Southerners recognize. Their commitment to public education is far less (though many Northern states are trying change that). Whether or not that has to do with Khari's recruitment, however, I have no idea.

Anyway.....love this commit so very much. Smart kid and fills a big need. If we can also get Craig James I'll be happy as punch.

My dad was from North Carolina, I have lived in the South, and regularly visit family there. There are some segments of the population that believe that for them to get a good education they have to leave the South. If a family believes that and places education first, why is it so had to believe, that they would eliminate every SEC school. From an SEC's schools point of view why try to overcome it when there are similar kids wanting to go to your school.
