Gopher commit Connor Mayes, the younger brother of current freshman Alex, will wear #65 to honor his best friend Beaux Borel, who lost his battle with cancer when they were in the 8th grade at the U.S. Army All-American Game.

Classy move by a future Gopher, who has attracted plenty of interest from other suitors.

Sounds like a great kid, excited to see him be part of the program.
 

Everything I read about both the Mayes boys makes me believe we have got too great kids here. Classy and humble but with a competitive edge. I really look forward to watching their careers develop at The U.
