It looks like Rubio will enter and stay in the Draft. IMO, it should be the Wolves' number one priority to position themselves to draft Rubio. We absolutely need a PG, but as important, we need someone that can put butts in the seats and that will be marketable. We are a dead end NBA destination right now, but guys like Jason Kidd and Chris Paul rave about Rubio and both have said he'd be THE GUY that NBA guys watch highlights of on ESPN at nights, Paul said he'd be a top 5 PG within a year in the League and Coach K said after the Olympics that Rubio will be a sure fire NBA star. Based on our position and marketing needs, he is more important in the draft for us than any other player. I hope we can either get lucky in the lottery (he'll likely be gone by #5) or trade up to ensure we are in a position to get him.

Plus, the Wolves are thinking about getting rid of McHale altogether. The chances of them screwing up year after year are diminishing.

My only concern with Rubio is that he would refuse to play for the T-Wolves; I don't fully understand European/NBA rules, but I think the players have quite a bit of leverage, don't they? I'm with you though, best case scenario for the Wolves would be Rubio joining the team.

Here's a little Rubio highlight:

I assume Rubio goes no.2, so right now that's Washington's pick. They might agree to trade it for no.5 and an expiring contract if the Wolves would take a bad contract back. If OKC gets lucky in the lottery, they might take no.5 and one of the other first rounders because they have Westbrook at the point. The Clippers are always looking to pinch pennies and they have Baron Davis, so if they get no.2, they might deal it to the Wolves in a similar situation to what I laid out with Washington.

I agree that Rubio's the no.1 priority. I have not seen enough of Jennings to know if I would like him as a consolation prize at the point. I do know that if the Wolves pass on a point with there first pick, I'd love to seen Flynn with their second first rounder if he's still available.

On youtube he is smooth but I can't tell how quick he is and he appears to be built like the NBA players of 25 years ago. Has anyone on the board seen him in a game?

Trade all of our picks for Rubio if that is what it takes. That might not even be close to enough now that I think about it.

Rubio was very impressive playing in the Olympics last summer.
