Other Big Ten schools ahead of Minnesota:

8. Northwestern
36. Penn State
39. Illinois
56. Michigan
61. Ohio State
T-68. Iowa & Michigan State
78. Wisconsin

Why are they advertising U.S. News and World Report?

I knew once we lost Joel our pursuit of the prestigious Director's Cup would slacken. I wonder if this is not the reason why we are running into difficulties in fundraising. :)

Interesting that it's the Gophers graduation rate and not its athletic performance that is the real anchor in their standing on this list. I wonder if having hockey as a major sport causes graduation rates to suffer? (Wisconsin's standing is also weighted down by their graduation rate). I am also a bit surprised by the US News and World Report rankings that have Minnesota tied with Clemson and below schools like Ohio State, UConn, Georgia, and Florida.

Any way you slice it, there's a lot of room for improvement at the U of M.
