That's surprising, they got a great young coach in Tony Bennett! Congrats - I know he was on my wish list before we got Tubby.

All is good in gold country, and I can start my workday now, at 4pm, lol!
 

2007 National Coach of the Year, so we certainly could have done worse...this year's results for WSU have me a little worried, but we'll see.
 




I hear the Washington St. wants to "hit a homerun" with their new hire. OTS is at the top of their list.
 


Wow, He is a great young coach and was high on my list if Tubby had left.

most of us are none too pleased, but that's mostly because we don't know much about him. Congrats on keeping your coach, he's a great one and I'm sure we made a run at him. Good luck next year

Good coach, but him and his father had some veeeerrrryyyy slow-paced teams. It'll certainly be a contrast to the rest of the ACC.
 


I agree with GL -- that's a good hire that I would have been happy with after Monson left. If some dope hadn't gotten them all fired up saying Tubby was coming I think it would be viewed in a much better light.

You too! I hope you guys are pleasantly surprised. I know that he was high on a lot of wish lists before we got Tubby.

His slow pace offense however should allow you to compete with teams in the ACC that clearly have more talent than UVA.
 

Tony is a very good coach, who uses some of his dads slow down, tough d philosophies but does let his players play. He is a very good recruiting, both at Wisconsin and WSU. Just look at the guys he was able to get to a crap hole like WSU. Added to that he has very good connections to European and Australian basketball schools or what ever they call them over there.
 

It's a good hire, they just were so convinced they had Tubby that anything else is a let down. I'd rather have Tony Bennett then Jeff Capel, who was the only other 'acceptable' candidate.
